Antique Books?

does anyone identify of any forums or websites offering information on antique and rare books? (perhaps like a search engine style website for books, or preferably a forum)

if you get traffic to your site, search engines will measure your webiste, and also it will take your keywords and give importance to your keyword. so traffic is the most important thing in internet,

there are two things:
1) one is traffic
1) newer is quality traffic

am talking about a website which has a 500 arround alexa traffic rank, and about 6/10 google's paginate rank.

get a free back link from this site, get a lot of free traffic, in this site you get free credits, and with that you get free above.

everything is free, http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?53747...
just get some easy traffic, also first 50 credits will activate you account, and then you will get your 100 outspoken credits, then on you get free credits, with that you get free traffic.
Source(s):

get a disclaimer, privacy policy, terms and conditions, instal maps, etc, these helps rankings,

also http://www.harmu.com for paid quality traffic, advertise on time underpinning, not on cost of clicks,

abebooks.com has a definitely decent search function. Not sure about forums, though.

Try Log Arts Web at http://www.philobiblon.com/ which also has a discussion group you can join. The archives of the group are searchable at the site.

Another scrutiny group you might like is ExLibris. The archives of this group and instructions for joining are here: http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byform/mailing-lists/exlibris/

Ultimately, you might want to join Sharp-L, an electronic discussion group for the history of print culture at http://www.sharpweb.org/swell-l.html

What is considered 'antique' when it comes to books?

I have some 1st print run books and I'm uncertain how old they have to be to be called antiques. Anyone familiar with antique books?

Books are predominantly rated another way. Most books wanted by collectors are first editions. Rarity depends on the content and author. Condition also is important. Old Encyclopedias, geography and other section books generally have little value. Exception, the early readers such as Dick and Jane and McGuffey's have value. Specific histories over 50 years old, early dime novels and old comic books may have value. Many early children's "Petty Golden" books have value. For example, "Little Black Sambo" because it was stereotypical was often destroyed by blacks and now commands a great in extent price. You may go to the library and find information on your particular book. Another possibility is log on to eBay and see if your book is there or is bringing any bids. A Art-lover's book called "Old Books" is another good resource.

What site should I use to sell my antique books?

Would it be more for me to sell these antique books (mostly 1800s) on Alibris, Abebooks, Tomfolio, Biblio, Antiqbook or perhaps another site? Could anyone recommend who to go with or who not to go with? Thank You!

abebooks are at bottom excellent but you might get more money on ebay where people will be impressed that the book is antique and not realise it's actually worth less than a modern paperback...

Where can I get prices for older antique books and buyers?

I have a bracket gather of older antique books ranging from 1880's - 1950's and I need more information on them. Also where I would find buyers or the best place to sell them. Thanks.

You should use a vendor that specialises in books, I found specialist dealers on Antique Dealer Finder (see source below), remember to try at least 3 different ones to get the best instance.

I need information on cleaning and care of antique books.?

I have a loads of hardback cover antique books from my father's collection that I want to carefully clean and preserve.
The books are in excellent condition.
