What does cited in front of a reference mean?
Nov 20, 2008 by Dani | Posted in Homework Help
So theres a reference
22. A. B. Smith 'Blah'
and then the next one is
23. Cited <italics>Ibid</italics>
Lets say smith has a refer to from Johnson in his 'blah' book.
The person doing the referencing wants to use johnsons quote and found it in smiths book.
So does he do 'Cited A B Smith 'blah' for footnote 23 or not?
This very likely makes no sense but hopefully someone will be able to answer me!
Thanks
No - word for word sound way of quoting someone else's quote.
The main thing is that if the citation is incomplete or incorrect, say, it is useful to see how you found it. Don't be tempted to call up the original if you haven't seen it for yourself. If it is important to you arrgument however, you should try to locate the 'Johnson' work.

Can I use D.Carnegie and S.Johnson as my references for the academic essay on management? ?

among other visionary books obviously.
I have cited from them, yes, but I am worried that they are not proper academic books and views expressed there, even though, widely accepted are still very subjective.
Who can help with 3 questions I need answers asap about the book To Kill a Mockingbird?
May 21, 2007 by CGH | Posted in Books & Authors
1-Why does Harper Lee move a point of telling us that "Johnson Grass and Rabbit Tobacco" grow in the Radley yard?
2-Why does Harper Lee put Atticus under the lightbulb in front of the penitentiary and also later in the novel under the streetlight?
For question # 3 please see if this makes sense.
Look at the animal words describing the gird members-"bovine" and "wool"-where else do we have all these animal words? Get the connection.
Any expropriate with these three questions would be greatly appreciated. My son had to turn in his copy of the book then the teacher gave him these questions to answer. We don't currently have the list to use as a reference.
Thanks, a greatful mom.
1. Johnson Traitor and Rabbit Tobacco are weeds. It shows that the house looks run down and that it is not taken care of by the Radleys.
2. Was already answered above
3. The hoop members were acting like sheep (wool) and cows (bovine). They were sheep because they were all just following along with each other because they were too afraid to say or do anything alone. They were acting like cows because cows are renowned to be stupid.

Are there any benign places to sell them online that are free?

Johnson went over the top when he said “...since Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood — and I won’t say what he was doing, but he said it in the regulations — when they have been involved.”
Despite the obvious reference to Obama’s drug use (which he admitted in his book), Johnson tried to cover his tracks later in the day by saying that meant to allude to “Barack Obama’s once in a while spent as a community organizer, and nothing else.”
It was unclear what about being a community organizer could not be mentioned on a public platform.
Clinton’s choice to repudiate Johnson’s remarks despite sharing a platform with him remind us of her failure to repudiate the remarks of Mrs. Yasser Arafat during a stop to the Middle East. Sharing the same platform with her, Hillary sat silently while she excoriated Israel in particular and Jews in extensive.
To be more exact, the widow of the most horrendous terrorist of modern time--Yasser Arafat's wife Suha--claimed that the Jews were poisoning her wells.
Hillary went over to this felon and gave her a big hug.
