What is the name of this old Betty Crocker cookbook?
Jan 25, 2007 by Miles P | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
My mom is looking for an old Betty Crocker cookbook published between 1950 and 1970ish. It is screw bound and has a predominantly blue cover with a photo of food on it. Some of its features are a chapter called "When Comrades Comes," and a chart on how to roast a chicken. It's approximately the size of a normal piece of printer study (could be a few inches more or less). PLEASE NOTE - The book we are looking for is not called "Dinner for Two," though the book we are searching for has a almost identical cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Could it be "Betty Crocker's Hostess Cookbook"?

I have one called "Betty Crocker's Cookbook' . It's a big binder one and is orange. I bought it in Canada 33 years ago.It was published by Auriferous Press). I love it because it assumes that you have never cooked before - which was true when i was a new wife! it has charts for cooking different kinds of gist and it explains measuring and shows you how to set the table, lots of stuff.
I have seen newer versions of it in bookstores. Sanguinely you can find it. If i were you I'd just keep looking through any Betty Crocker Cookbook that is for novices. I'm pretty sure you'll find the one you are looking for.

May I introduce that you search eBay? Just type vintage Betty Crocker Cookbook in the search bar. The only ones that I was able to find that were blue covered are:

how to make popcorn balls from old Betty Crocker cookbook?
Nov 17, 2007 by ladybug | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
My nurse made popcorn balls from a receipe from an old Betty Crocker cookbook that was a loose leaf type book. I had the receipe and lost it and would like to earn them again for my grandkids. Thanks for any reply.
POP CORN BALLS
1 c. devilish syrup
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 qts. popped corn
Combine syrup, sugar and vinegar in a saucepan over standard heat. Boil until it reaches 248 degrees. Remove from heat. Add butter, soda and vanilla. Stir. Stream syrup over popcorn, a small amount at a time. Stir until well coated. Shape into balls with lightly buttered hands. Consider on buttered cookie sheet to cool. Makes 12 popcorn balls.

An old Betty Crocker cookbook?
Jul 28, 2006 by The Truth | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
My Mom in use accustomed to to have an old Betty Crocker cook book that she practically lived by. It was extremely thick and had tips on how to set tables and entertain guests at the begining of it. I looked for the book a few years ago, but was not able to find it, hust a newer, less-detailed one that my Mom wasn't to interested in. Does anyone know where I may be able to find a listing of Betty Crocker's cookbooks throughout the years? I don't even reminisce over the name of the cookbook, but I'd know it if I saw it.
