my sony announce just java books but it is hard to find a lot of books in java most of the books is in pdf form so i want 2 download program suit my mobile so i can deliver assign to various books on my mobile

An alternate approach is to convert .pdf format books to .epub format book and then view them on your Sony device. As it supports .epub shape, so you need not to download the specific program to suit your mobile-- actually it is not easy to find a good one. Get the AnyBizSoft PDF to EPub converter and you may take it for regard.

Are online PDF books exactly like the actual books?

I recently downloaded Chuck Chuck Palahniuk's novel 'Burke' in PDF format and it's only 138 pages, whereas the real book is 300 something pages. So I'm wondering whether or not that version I have is accurate.

Try counting the count or words in a complete page of the book, and the number of words in a complete page of the pdf document. You will probably find that the pdf adaptation fits more words onto a single page.

This makes sense, considering that the printed page of a pdf is probably 8.5 by 11 inches while the hardcover book paginate is only, maybe 4 by about 6 inches.

Even in different editions of the same book, there may be a different page count. One edition may have been printed in a many size font, or another size of pages. Consider the different size of a hardcover, and of a paperback edition of the same record.
