I see a disagreement in length of audiobook, but don't know the exact difference. Please help!
Great help! Thanks for the answers!
An abridged enlist is missing some of the content of the print version. An unabridged book contains it all.
Abridged books are generally crap, IMO. Concoct those awful Reader's Digest Condensed books, in audio form, with the personality and soul sucked liberty out.

Unabridged is the unqualified book as written by the author. Abridged is a shortened/edited version, leaving out sections that some editor thinks will not devastation the story. If you have time and really want to hear the story as the author intended, get the unabridged.

An unabridged earmark, in any format, is simply the whole thing, without a word cut. An abridged book has been cut, but usually so skilfully that the reader or hearer not quite notices the difference. I've listened to abridged audiobooks of a couple of books that I had already read in their entirety, and I wasn't aware of anything missing.

Unabridged is the full printed log read out loud. An abridged version has certain pieces, often minor parts of the the plot, taken out to return it shorter. You are at the mercy of the editors as to what is important/unimportant, however, the main plot usually remains intact.

Whats the difference between "Abridged" and "Unabridged" audiobooks on itunes?

the abridged audio volume is reading off the abridged book which has unimportant things taken out. The unabridged is the original book narrated.

abridged versus unabridged audiobooks?

what is the argument?
Abridged means that the autochthonous text of the story has been changed. Not every word is reproduced into the audiobook.
If some things were left out for the sake of time, that's abridging. Turning a post into a play, where only the dialogue is used but not the narrative, that's abridging.
Reading word for word is unabridged.
There are pros and cons to both. For event, I loved the unabridged version of Beowulf: A New Verse Translation by Seamus Heaney. But I could only handle the BBC Radio version -- like a boom box play -- of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It still took 17 hours. Can you imagine if it was the entire series?

Where can I find best quality, unabridged audio books for sale online? Cheapish, perferably. Direct links please - no "eBay!" comments. Thanks!
