Bras Basah Complex is notable for school & other books which I use to patronise during our school days. But in today world more variety of books content are definitively available in hip and trendy shopping complexes such as Borders in wheelock place and marine parade, MPH in Stamford Rd, Page One in Vivocity, Sought-after in the Heartland,
Kinikoniya in Bugis and Ngee Ann City, Times .....etc

How do bookstores and book publishers actually make money?
Aug 12, 2007 by Raging Hillbilly | Posted in Books & Authors
When I esplanade through a bookstore, I see the hundreds and hundreds (or thousands!) of different books by different authors, most of which are not highly known and not fitting to be a bestseller either.
I always wonder, how the heck do these bookstores and publishers (and authors!) make any money off of most of the books?
I would think that printing all these books that won't put across many copies would cost more than they actually get in return?
Or do the small number of books that end up being bestsellers make up the difference? Thanks.
They both get percentages. But being that the publisher pays the authors, they take their parcel out of it, and only take what the contract allows. However, how well books do, is a factor. If they become best sellers, they get printed and sold longer than if they don't.

Are there any bookstores which specialize in Greek lore, especially including recent fiction stories?
Jan 22, 2008 by Lowell P | Posted in Mythology & Folklore
I've study about Titan and Olympic gods, as well as Greek athletes and heroes and heroines of antiquity. Yet, I am eager to learn of any bookstores which register recently written fictional books.
Since you do not show where you live all I can suggest is a search on book stores with your location. Most chains have store finders on their sites. Almost any regulations store will help you search and order books.

Why do some bookstores put a blank sticker over the UPC on the back of a book?
Jun 01, 2009 by starvingWizard | Posted in Small Business
I've noticed some bookstores put a feel put down white sticker over the UPC on the back of books, so that you cannot scan the books UPC code. Does anyone know why they do this?
The stickers I am referring to are not ones that have a proprietary bar criterion criteria covering the UPC, but simply just a blank sticker (that is quite hard to remove!) so you cannot scan it.
Most of the the rhythm the store is selling the book at a different price than the price the code is preset to.
If you scan it & then remove the sticker and thumb again, you will see the difference.
