Closing Borders Books

Gayle Shanks, the institutor and co-owner of Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe, talks about talk about how the closing of Borders book stores may ...

Would Jackson, Mississippi have more Borders Bookstores in the future?

I understand online that the Waldenbooks bookstore in the Metrocenter mall, in Jackson, MS is closing. Would there be another/more Border Bookstores in the city, in the future?

I asked my ensorcelling eight ball and it said:

SIGNS POINT TO NO.

I asked my illusion eight ball and it said:

SIGNS POINT TO NO.

My guestimate would be yes. Between the new malls in Pearl and Ridgeland and a possible mall in Richland, one if not all of those malls are bound to have another book store. Metrocenter is to all intents on the verge of closing altogether anyway. The business is moving to the suburbs.

Does anybody know when Borders bookstores open on weekends?

I'm wonderful excited for the fourth book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, to come out, but the Borders website is retarded and doesn't let me go anywhere without an gaffe message. I can't find a 1-800 number to call, so I was wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head what time Borders opens on weekends, unusually on August 2nd?

They have a midnight cocktail, but after that it opens at 7am

How much does Borders bookstores pay for new employees?

I physical in Reno Nv, and I was wondering how much Borders paid new employees. I am 17.

Why not simply ask? I'd guess slightly above the minimum wage, but you also have to take into account any benefits that come along with the job.

Is there anyone with memberships with both Borders bookstores and Barnes and Noble?

I be aware you have to pay for the Barnes and Noble membership and not for the Borders one. I also know the Borders one gives you little mini keychain tags as extra cards and that they can look up your account to creditation you with just a email or phone number with the account.

How does the Barnes and Noble one compare? Is it worth the $25 dollars? I am surprised they are still charging for the membership (ignoring the 25 dollar gift card that comes with a new membership).

What do you say?

Unless you buy altogether a lot of books, the $25 fee is a rip off. The member prices are quite similar to Borders' prices, and that $25 gift card shrinks in value if you don't use it starve oneself enough.

I get emailed coupons for both stores, frequently ones good on any book, and those are worth more than either store's membership.

I let my Barnes & Luxurious membership expire, but I keep my Borders one going. I'm increasingly aware that while I enjoy browsing and buy books I didn't know existed, when I in need of a specific book I do better in terms of price at Amazon than either store (so long as I buy enough to get the free shipping).

Can you return a book to Borders Bookstores if it doesn't have a yellow sticker they always have on the back?

I bought three books two weeks ago, and I took off the yellow stickers that they always have on the back of each lyrics and threw them away. Also, I did not keep the receipt. Can I still return them, or does Borders have a special ISBN number on the yellow sticker?

Yes you can reimbursement them still, but without the receipt you'll just get store credit, not a refund.
Also, if the books were recently on sale you'll get the sale price as fund credit, even if you bought the books for full price. Without the receipt you have no way of proving how much you paid for them.
