Gateway Notebooks?
Dec 30, 2007 by YOUR WORST ENEMY | Posted in Laptops & Notebooks
i heard gateway notebooks werent goood and to visit away from them ..... im looking for one for a notebook for entertainment and some low tech gaming or one that can handle gameing i dont lack to break the bank tho. iwant at least 2 gb memory or ram?? windows vista home premiun, intel core 2 duo proocessor at least 1.5 or Amd and peradventure a nvidia graphics card.... So i found what looks to be a pretty good laptop at circuit city it is a gateway tho and it is in my toll range check it out should i get it
It depends on the individual of course as to their needs.
To answer your question,I own 3 Gateway notebooks and am very satisfied with all three of them. The oldest being 6yrs. old and the newest 15 mos.All three are in a home network and they role very well.
I looked at the one in the posted link and it seems ok to me,anyway,,,,,,,,Good Luck
I have heard people complain of their support,my face with them has been stellar, although I have not talked with them in over 3 years.Just make sure to register you new computer,it really helps.

Do you suggest me to buy Gateway Notebooks?
Jun 23, 2007 by victory | Posted in Laptops & Notebooks
I will buy a new notebook shortly but which one is better Dell or Gateway? Any information about Gateway convertible notebooks? What do you think?
What about Lenovo and Sony?Which are better? Just suggest me personal property brand..Because I had once HP Laptop (2001 yr) It was pretty noisy and the screen is dead now..
I recall a few people who have gateways and they are pretty happy with them. I myself have and HP laptop and love it. I would definitely recommend that if you purchase any computer you are best off buying from the plc web site as you get better deals, I purchased my computer from a retail store and got robbed the same computer online was about $300 less. One thing I do distinguish is that windows vista is a resource hog and will slow down your operating system so you may want to look into a computer with at least 2GB of memory. Make sure you grip a protection plan. Also look into reviews on customer service and how well they respond to the customers when issues arise. I delt with dell once and they had me on the phone for hours as for gateway I must say I delt with them as well and had a rather engaging experience. Hope this will help you some.

What can i do to unlock my gateway notebooks hard drive?
Mar 24, 2009 by Veronica B | Posted in Laptops & Notebooks
I have a countersign put on my laptop and i dont know what it is, is there anykind of program i can use to download to disk? And how do you download programs to a disk??? Is is presume to be a dvd disk or cdr disk?? Please hlep !!!!
Even if you dab hand-slave the hard drive, you would need to access the security account manager to find the passwords- and still, you would need to find a unusually good program to convert the security account manager passwords into simple text. The process of pronouncement a program to crack SAM is extremely difficult, let alone decrypt it! Reset the administrator password, if possible.

Has anyone ever had problems with Gateway Notebooks?
Sep 08, 2007 by sekocsis | Posted in Software
I'm righteous asking to see if anyone has had problems so I don't feel so alone. I have had 15 hard drives and 3 motherboards in 3 years.
Actually, I do everything. I baby the risible thing. About every 2 months, the blue screen of death pops up. Im not that dumb, I do know something about computers. I use that computer for work and have a novel one for brosing and whatnot.
Gateways and HP/Compaqs are bad for overheating. I know at the college I worked at, we were constantly shipping the Gateways back to them for some service or another. The best thing to do is to get one of those laptop cooling stands/platforms:
They'll attend to arrange for added air flow and circulation, which will greatly decrease the chances of heat damage to the components. You can also find similar items at most help supply/big box stores. Good luck!

How good are the Gateway FX notebooks?
May 19, 3391 by Whodaman™ | Posted in Laptops & Notebooks
I programme on purchasing the new FX notebook that was released recently and was wondering critical flaws it has compared to other notebooks in it's price range (of $1400 or so)
my woman, this laptop is the best gaming that i have ever seen in the price below 1500! to tell the truth, it is even more powerful than the above 2000!
take for ex: look at this ASUS G70S-X1, featured with only 1440 x 900 telly, and 8700gt SLI mode ( honestly, 8700 gt SLI means duo card mode, but it is still weaker than the 8800 gts, check this one http://www.notebookcheck.net/Active-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html )
what about,, Dell? the xps m1730...8700gt duo again, and look at its price ....... >2000k
i have been searching for my own gaming laptop since the mid july. looking back on the not well known variety like SAGER, cyberpower // or even from the extremely expensive like voodoo, alienware... to the more current like hp, asus, dell...... I GUARANTEE no way can you find such a good deal!!! what is more, this laptop is upgradeable!!!
however, what i be loath the most, is the color ... i hate the orange pattern around the keyboard...... looks ugly! and the keyboard looks like a kid toy!!! my tender-hearted on this keyboard is not as good as on hp's ... anyway, it is still soft, comfortable,,,,
i mean, forget about the fact that GATEWAY may not a good computer brand recently, and lose about the bad color scheme,.. .. i wanna take a review from http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/gateway-p-7811fx/4505-3121_7-33201021.html?tag=elbow.3 as a conclusion.....
" We don't know how Gateway makes money selling these things, but the combination of high-end components and low payment makes the 17-inch Gateway P-7811FX the best mobile gaming deal going right now. "
