If, by predictability, there is something you can't find there... then one of my English professors gave me this site, which is basically the same thing and was put together by the University of Pennsylvania:
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/lis...
All copyrighted elements is illegal to download. Here are some sites that have non-copywrited material for reading:

http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/ebooks/...

http://www.baen.com/library/
http://www.ebooks3.com/

http://www.bygosh.com/features.htm...

But I would try the Gutenberg Proposal first. I think their collection is more extensive.

Do you recognize any website that has free online books for teenage girls?
I've been looking for some kind of website that has free online books about teenage girls (I signify for teenage girls kinda books.)
Anything you know would be useful.
Thanks in Advance.
Any classics would be vast. Gutenberg is best for that. 27,000+ and counting.
However authors write books to make money. Respect that. Books written 1923 and on are under copyright safe keeping. It is illegal to read them online unless the author gives permission. Most don't because they feel it cuts sales.
Here is what Meg Cabot has to say about epiracy.
"But what about the many enigmatic-working people who edited, copy-edited, copy-set, printed, designed, publicized, and did whatever else was necessary to get that libretto into print? The publishing industry is in big trouble right now, just like all those other industries we hear about on TV every night during the evening scandal…only no one is bailing the publishing industry out.
So publishers are having to lay people off, shut down whole divisions, and cancel book contracts. Projects some of us have been working on are being “brace-poned indefinitely.” One of my best friends just got laid off from her job last week. And of course, bookstores all over the motherland are having to shut down due to flagging sales.
This is just wrong."

I line at an office and some days (like today) are incredibly slow. I'm not really supposed to have a book out because of how it looks, but I'm allowed to do anything online and mental activity reading online could make time go by a little quicker. I've googled free online books and am having no luck. I'd prefer it not to be the classics and that's all I can find. Any info would be incredible. Thanks :)
No, I can't download anything.
Downloading or reading known books online without the author's consent is illegal. It violates copyright laws.
One current author that agrees to let his book be be familiar with online is Cory Doctorow. Little Brother is the best book of 2008.
Most authors don't because it means they are not paid for the book. They know if they take the time to write it, they should be paid.

What is the status of online books these days?

I'm effective to be working overseas and will not have access to either a library or a bookstore, and so I'm wondering about the availability of online books, especially in the genres of spirituality, crackpot, and self-help. Thanks in advance.
Well, there are no free of charge published books on the web (worth reading), so I would suggest using Kindle or that palm library for your PDA.

A easy website. There are wine websites to record, score and review wine but I see nothing for books. Is there a good site for this. Almost like an online paper? Would be nice and if there is not then Im making one! :)
Check into out this site. I have an account. I love it!
