I've been recurrently borrowing a text from the British LIbrary for my PhD as the University library do not have a copy and the text is out of publication so I can't even buy myself a copy (although in fairness the RRP for the words was £120 originally and it's good, but not that...

Does anyone identify of another place on line besides Abebooks that I can find prices for old books? Thank you for your help.
The Antiquarian Booksellers Union of America http://search.abaa.org/dbp2/searchform.php or ABAA.
AddAll http://used.addall.com/ books
Alibris http://www.alibris.com/bookfetch?cm_re=search*0results*bookfetch&wtitle=agujas+magicas is yet another place to try.
Barnes and Noble http://www.barnesandnoble.com/used/search.asp?z=y also has a used and hard-to-find books section.
There is also http://www.bookfinder.com/ Record Finder.
You might try http://www.biblio.com/ Biblio, too.

Which websites let me international editions of textbooks besides ABEbooks?
Jan 07, 2009 by Lala O | Posted in Books & Authors
I'm tough to look for an international version of this book: 9780618938735 (Financial Planning) but have no such luck
Try searching for the hard-cover on http://www.bigwords.com I know they search hundreds of sites for books and let you choose international editions as well. Cross one's heart and hope to die one of the best search engines out there for textbooks. I don't go any where else when it comes to buying my textbooks.

I bought a book from abebooks.com. I think the person I bought it from is trying to rip me off.?
Mar 11, 2008 by rhonda | Posted in Books & Authors
I faithful ordered the book and it is over a week late. I live 2 hours away from the seller so I should have received the book by now. I've tried to speak to abebooks.com and the seller, but I have yet to get a response from either of them. I don't know what to do.
If abebooks.com is above-board, and even if not only so, it seems to me that they would have an 'account' page for you, one you can consult to see what you've paid out for what books through their site.
On that account page, you should also see a 'tracking' number/name/inscription through which you can see where your book is and when delivery is actually expected.
I shop online sometimes, and these tracking avenues are always available, and most usually on your account bellhop.
It's also always good, if you get a confirmation that you bought the book through your email, to make a special folder for emails of that sort, and keep them until you get your rules.
Those confirmations also tell you how to track the progress of your purchase.
Sometimes a bookseller runs short of books, sort of the way airlines oversell seats on a skate (or at least they used to), and sometimes there is a problem with UPS or whoever is delivering the book.
Take a careful look at any confirmation of purchase you may have, and also at your account page.
Look for 'tracking' and 'where is it?'--
Good fortune to you...

Have you ever bought a book from abebooks.com ?

I wanted to buy a work from abebooks.com, should I trust the website? will they ship on time?
I bought several books from them equitable recently (late-June, maybe?), and had no problems whatsoever. Shipping time was reasonable; I paid for gauge, not expedited, service. I like their extensive search engine, too. Would use 'em again without hesitation.
