Any experience with Time Life Books?
Oct 15, 2007 by Aquarius0276 | Posted in Home Schooling
I have been asked to buy a assortment of books by Time Life for my son's "Early Development". It looks too good to be true. Quite expensive though. I have been ripped off before and would like some assurances before I estimate this decision.
Have anyone heard of "A Better Chance" which is a company in Australia who are a subsidiary of Time Life?
As an older mom, I would say 'shield your money'. Many companies use the tactic that you are not a good parent unless you buy their product. I would steer clear of anyone who uses this propose to.
Your son's 'early development' will do fine if you spend time with him, read, play games, have conversations with him, etc. Use the local library. Use the internet. There is wealth of reading, pictures, video, audio, and other resources there.
Remember the days when people bought World Book Encyclopedias? You can get bookshelves full of reading on a CD now.
Books are portentous, but they do not have to be expensive to be effective.

I'll supporter Janis B.
Time life books are good books, we have owned several over the years.
If they are what you'd like to add to your personal library you can see about buying them directly from Time Life (on-Line), and on only those that you would like, instead of having to buy a whole range of them, because some may have what you need, and others may collect dust on the shelf.
Another option would be to check the library first, and if they do not drive them check them out through an inter-library loan program; this is a way to check out the books for a week or two to see if you like them.
We do this often, and found that more than half the books we had planned on buying were not what we wanted after all.
Barnes and Acclaimed also has a 20% teachers discount; home school families qualify as well, and ordering books through them therefore could be a cost savings as well.
I am not au fait with, and never heard of the other company you mentioned.

I'll have to ring in with the others. Been asked by whom?
The best thing you can do for your child is to give him your time. YOU are what he needs right now, not books.

How many Time Life books of The Old West are there?
Feb 11, 2009 by Keto | Posted in Books & Authors
I have 19, but heard there were more. Should I keep looking?
thanks Penelope. There were 28 on that directory. I guess I gotta keep looking.
Try this coupling. Depending on what year your series came out they could be up to 30 in the set.

Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until heated through; when finished baking, concede to stand for 5 minutes and serve.
