Where can you find the original hardcover books if the book is an older book?
Jan 11, 2007 by ~ ♥ ~ | Posted in Books & Authors
I am looking for some Mary Higgins Clark books that are the authentic hardcover. I don't want the kind that has the book jacket on it I rather have the one that doesn't. I can't seem to find these kind of books anywhere. I know that my school library has these books but I am assured they get it through a school program where I cannot order from. If you can please try to tell me where I can find them that would be great.
I have tried amazon.com, ebay.com, b-n.com, borders.com. It seems like I have tried every bookstore website.
Amazon is a solid one, but if that's not happening for you, here are some other ideas.
You could do a "Want It Now" post on eBay. You can tell potential sellers what you appetite. This is a popular author, so I think someone out there should have something for you.
Also, try www.addall.com and/or www.fetchbooks.info. I have used these sites in the past when I've tried to cost a book I couldn't find on Amazon. They are tied in to many on-line bookstores and will show what is available.
You might contact the actual publisher. They may have something for you. I'm assuming this originator had many titles printed by the same company.
When you are buying, make sure you read book descriptions if you pay on-line. The library binding might have marks from being part of a library (stamps and stickers). If you don't be that, you'd end up disappointed.

Most hardback novels published recently have lyrics jackets. If you don't like them, you can always take them off. You can buy used books often without jackets, and a site I like to use is:
www.abebooks.com
Also, sometimes www.amazon.com has library binding editions of books within reach, but not always.

biblio.com
I suppose they let you enter the books you are looking for and will e-mail you when it becomes available from one of their sellers.

I would like to find a site where I can read the first few pages of older books.?

Eg: The Adventues of Ben Gunn, or any book by R F Delderfield. Any ideas?
where can I find more of these older aged pop up books?
Dec 29, 2006 by Alex J | Posted in Books & Authors
We came across two books that are like adult pop up books (not of age as in mature but as in older then 18) we have two PIrates and Santa Clause. They are information books that have little maps and letters and other things that are glued down, pop up or something like it. they are published by Atheneum Books for unfledged readers. I went to the website at www.SimonSaysKids.com but I could not find other books like this, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find books like this?
Can anyone tell me what these books are called?
There is one on Fra Lippo Lippi which is actually phenomenal.

What is a good site to find older publications of books?
Nov 27, 2007 by mbrilts | Posted in Books & Authors
Unqualifiedly good Astrology book called ASTROLOGY FOR EVERYONE by Evangline Adams. Looking to send it to a friend...was a thesis of conversation....and a must as a gift. Published in the 1920
FOUND IT....THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ANSWER, IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE A BACKUP!
Besides the one listed I try theses sites also:
alibris.com
bibliotec.com
and as a last remedy have recourse to ask the librarian this question at the Library of Congress' website at: loc.gov

Where can I find older Harlequin books from the 60's & 70's?
Sep 21, 2007 by metalqueen33 | Posted in Books & Authors
Either an online bookstore or a inventory located in Oregon or Washington.
Your outwit bet may be on ebay.com. Put in the words "vintage harlequin" and see what comes up. The word "vintage" will put aside having to wade through hundreds of listings for newer Harlequin's.
Are you looking for specific authors or titles?
Also check up on out any used bookstores or paperback swap stores in your area. Look in the phone book under "bookstores - cast-off."
Another place to check might be bookmooch.com which is a book swapping site.
