Nov 15, 2007 by chocolatebabycakes | Posted in Other - Careers & Employment
Any IT recruiters out there? If so, I would like your aide...I am currently an Executive Recruiter and I have about 7 years of experience. Currently I am recruiting retail and HR positions. I really want to get into the Dope Technology sector but I have no IT background whatsoever and do not know how to speak the IT language. Can someone give me some suggestions on how to break into IT recruiting? Also, are their any books or internet courses that I can take to get about with the lingo of the IT world?
If you are really interested in the IT industry you need to decide which sector to specialize in. My pick would be networking infastructure. Mainly, becasue of the ask for. You can go to any BAM of Barnes and Noble to pick up on your lingo. Look up the OSI model which is the basics for any network or troubleshooting. Speaking of that is what all IT people look for besides certs. They hanker after to see your analytical side. How you think and troubleshoot. Refine and expose that you should be in the know in no time. Good luck to you IT is an interesting fabulous:)

First NEVER explore your possible candidates the way I saw many people treated in the retail trade....That behavior WON'T fly in the IT environment....
Then check out eWeek and Net-Temps for some pointers on what the Contest is doing and note what the REPLIES are by those potential clients and candidates...
You want to be different and stand out from a crowded grassland, so use your imagination...The people who created MONSTER did....

Man in wicked hate-crime killing arrested on violation of parole terms
Racism - The ex-skinhead convicted in the 1988 beating of Mulugeta Seraw could end up serving more house of correction time
Saturday, May 20, 2006
BOAZ HERZOG
One of the three men convicted in the 1988 Southeast Portland killing of Ethiopian arrival Mulugeta Seraw was arrested Friday on accusations that he violated his parole by contacting members of a white fanatic group, authorities said.
Kyle Brewster, 36, was arrested without incident during a routine visit with his parole dignitary Friday morning. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center with no bail allowed.
The county Unit of Community Justice is recommending Brewster be sent back to prison for the rest of his parole, which expires in 2008, said Robb Freda-Cowie, a spokesman for the activity.

Brewster spent 14 years in prison for taking part in one of Oregon's most notorious hate crimes. The former skinhead was convicted of first-situation manslaughter in the 1988 baseball-bat killing of Seraw. While the conviction put Brewster and two other members of East Side White Revel in behind bars, the slaying cast a shadow on Portland, which was branded "Skinhead City" by one of the land's leading civil rights groups.
The crime prompted the enactment of Oregon's groundbreaking hate-offence law. It also set the stage for a civil trial that financially crippled one of the nation's most influential racists.
Brewster's arrest comes midst a significant increase in activity by white supremacist groups nationwide and across the region, a trend that observers have called alarming. The groups have become savvier about recruiting, harnessing the Internet and creating notation labels that promote rock bands, said Robert Jacobs, the Anti-Defamation League's Pacific Northwest regional boss.
"Many of these people are plain unstable," Jacobs said. The instability adds to the potential for fierceness -- "you don't know when it's going to happen."
The groups also have drifted into drug dealing, diggings-invasion robberies and graffiti, crimes more traditionally associated with African American and Latino gangs, said Steven Stroud, a former skinhead who co-founded Oregon Shine, a Portland-based organization that tracks hate groups.
Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Portland Policemen Bureau, increasingly have seen a rise in assaults and vandalism connected to white supremacist groups, Freda-Cowie said.
Parole officials warned Brewster when he was released Nov. 19, 2002, that they would retract his parole if he associated with gang members. Since then, Freda-Cowie said, "it's pretty clear he hasn't changed his ideas."
People should be rewarded for doing flattering deeds. Good is what is of benifit to me and mine so obviously it is usually subjective just like evil. What is good for me is often bad for my enemies or tournament.

Help me and my new company. (10pts + 1000 thanks) !?
May 19, 7125 by Arul for U | Posted in Other - Business & Finance
I am creditable at handling computers and internet. Recently, I was recruited by an electronic equipment manufacturing company as a Designer(Catalogs and Books). My new situation is also good but the problem is......
All the company workers (almost 99%) didnt know about computer(They use it for checking mail only).
Even the income and expense accounts were entered in a ticket (hard Copy), i also insisted my Boss to make use of that EXCEL and softwares etc. All the transaction are entered in accounts regulations. I must say that they are best at marketing and manufacturing equipments.
When i suggest them to use computers, they had no time to listen my words . just a righteous word document or video(about use of computers) will help them a better. The reason for their fear is that they think error will come off by the use of computer.
Now what i need is a help from you:
Just pls provide some link(Videos or documents) to show that use of computer will consume less time and increases productivity. But please dont put me like
->Quit that company.
-> Explain them(my colleagues) by discussing about its benefits.
-> other Comic answers.
---
am sure that by making use of the video , it will have some talented impact on my boss attitude. Dont help me but help my organisation.
THANKS !
Hi,
Its a stern 1, but perhaps you might want to paint your boss a scenario, heres what I thought of.
Imagine your office was burnt down in flames. Of run, insurance covers the cost of loss of equipment, but insurance can never get your data back. Imagine all your income and expense accounts being burnt to ashes, who's responsible for them? What are you going to do when the auditor arrives? and of course payroll, etc, you get the idea.
Now we can introduce to him a backup storage plan, be it storagetek or something else. Employees key in the statistics to a central storage, storage is backed up everyday, backed up data will be copied onto tapes and sent to a vendor to safely-keep in a secured location. This way, we can prepare for disaster recovery, and even if your whole office is burnt down (even computers are destroyed), you guys can get it up and uninterrupted at least 80-90% in a temp location within hours. Insurance covers equipment loss, and data is safe. Win-win position.
Ok recap,
- computer can provide redundancy
- disaster recovery plan
- automation (not discussed here, but automation can speed processes up, thus freeing more rhythm to do more businesses, and more money equal more bonuses for everyone)
- vendor costs are low compared to the cost of losing invaluable figures
hope it helps! thanx:)

I want to play football, but there are some complications.. I would be grateful for any information. Anyone?
Jan 13, 2009 by Leo | Posted in Football (American)
I'm a college trainee attending a junior college in California. I've always been interested in football, but I never had the chance to play because of a lot of obstacles.
I'm only 5'9 140 lbs with 7.5 inches diameter / 3 inch contribute span. It doesn't sound too much like a potential physique of a football player, but I know I can do this. I have a "penchant" in understanding, analyzing, and I'm very creative. I'm a sprinter who can outrun all of my weekend football game members, but I have not had the chance to get timed. I'm resourceful so I can cut and burst pretty easily. I just don't want to put myself out of the formula yet.
I'm going to work my ass to work out and gain arrange. I should be able to get to 160 lbs pretty easily because my diet right now is really small (My buddy with similar option was able to get to 160 from 135 in 3 weeks, naturally- we're both ectomorphs). I won't stop until I become at least 175 lbs.
As of right now, I'm just troublesome to research the little resources I am available to at the moment on the internet about football fundamentals. I'll be buying books and such about football techniques and strategies.
If you have any profitable advice, whether it is what kind of book, the process of getting recruited, or something else, I would be very grateful.
Thanks.
You wont get to any strength or weight reading a book. They can help but realistically you can get anything you need from the internet. Just know what position you yen to be, and go for it. It sounds like, by what your plan is, you want to play RB and be an edge runner so bulk up and find a team you want to tomfoolery for, then become a Walk-on. If you don't make it either try the next year or try to play for another program that you can get on. The best way to get good at a position is to get coached at that position and to do that you desideratum to be on some team so go where you can Walk-on.
