I've tried Bigwords.com and Amazon.com, but not Half.com because they are part of ebay and I'm alarmed they might steal my money...do you know of a website where I can find the cheapest textbooks?
i have a 75% off coupon at amazon.com
try searching on slickdeals.net or google accumulate coupons. they almost always have coupons of at least 10% off.

Well, half.com is where I bought my textbooks before and never had any problems. It is part of ebay but there is no summons done. Which actually you would probably be able to get them even cheaper by buying them on ebay. Just make sure you make questions to the seller before invitation just to make sure you are getting what you are looking for.

I all ways end at http://www.bigwords.com and they've all ways found me the cheapest textbooks. And the way that they compare many items at once, and calculate the best combination of stores to buy at, including coupons and shipping. They also let you register or exclude international editions, and even renting is an option through them. They even let you choose the ship time and then calculate the lowest cost using the right shipping type at every store.
What more could you ask for really??

When during the year are college textbooks cheapest?
May 19, 3815 by carl | Posted in Higher Education (University +)
Thanks for the answers. I do not note what year is the cheapest though, but rather what time during the year are textbooks the cheapest to buy online.
It's tangled to say, but usually your Freshman year is the most expensive. Most college students purchase their textbooks from their local campus their freshman year and don't grasp that they have alternatives. Once you realize that you can get all of your textbooks from online vendors using the ISBNs, which are themselves easily obtainable, you can spend a lot less on the textbooks you need for your classes. A lot of students learn about tuned in textbook shopping by doing things like looking for the lowest seller online, finding somewhere with a personal property textbook buyback program, or even something as simple as asking your professor if a book is required to complete the course industry. The year you exercise as many of your textbook purchasing options as possible is the cheapest year you'll have.
Edit : Oh! Apologizes for the misunderstanding. I understand that textbook buyback is really popular in late May and early June, so late June is when the most used books are possibly in stock. Since used books are usually significantly cheaper than new, I would say that late June and early July are quite the time when books are the cheapest because the largest quantity of used should be available.

When are textbooks the cheapest and when are they more expensive?
Dec 30, 2008 by Lovely Latina | Posted in Higher Education (University +)
I believe they are cheaper if you buy early. But some of my profs probably will not post the required books until the last minute. Will I have to spend more if I buy 2 weeks before or after the semester starts?
I don't in actuality think it matters when per say you buy your book. I think if your a smarty shopper and know how to search for your materials you'll be able to get the book at the lowest prices any culture. It's just all about how you search for your books that's the key to this situation.
First off do not use the bookstore on campus...ever! That place is the biggest rip off...( I really desire you knew that all ready!)
And then secondly I all ways search online using search engine based sites like http://www.bigwords.com to find the paramount possible price out there. I mean this thing searches every where and finds me books that are some times up to 75% off and such. The reason I create they're the best is that they compare many items at once, and calculate the best combination of stores to buy at, including coupons and shipping. They also let you register or exclude international editions, and even renting is an option through them. They let you choose the ship time and then calculate the lowest evaluation using the right shipping type at every store.
Its an amazing search engine for textbooks for sure, and if you've never used it before your gonna find that it is the outwit for your self.
