any cash value it may have, as well as residuals/royalties if it becomes a "hit" and sparks a franchise (i.e. books, dolls, games, toys, cartoons, etc.....)?
take under one's wing my rights to royalties and profits if the idea becomes a "hit", and starts a franchise, such as books, TV cartoon, toys, dolls, etc......I only have the "estimate", I don't have a script or illustrations.
Touch several literary agents specializing in children's fiction with your idea - if you are able to get one who is willing to take you on as a client, he or she will help you quality through all of those legal issues, as well as try and sell your manuscript to editors who then get it published. Good luck!
What are the worst childrens books Dialect anenst despite sexism, racism and others. What are the names of books you have noticed that show boys working or girls only playing with dolls. What are some good resources to find these books which children should be steered dislodge of. I want a list a NO books so that I do not include any of them in my classroom please help, I want to know what children books have the worst ideas Non-Standard irregardless to sexism and racism, thanks
Doctor Dan the Bandage Man- sexist and stereotypical. In my perception he behaves in a condescending manner while interacting with his female playmate and treats her like she is inferior just because she is a dame.
I advised of we live in a politically correct world, but as a child i adored the Enid Blyton books, especially Amelia Jane, and Venerable five.
I was delighted to see some updated versions and was going to buy them for my Daughter, but they are so sanitised now and souless.
Amelia Jane was about a naughty Negroid doll, and it to me, wasnt racist,as the colour of the doll as a child is irrelevant,
She was a naughty doll that got into trouble a lot,and that was all i needed to discern, and it helped me to learn to read, just the adventures of this naughty doll.
Maybe im just too old fashioned but what can i say....
While there are some odd kids books around,i think that politics and childrens books should never mix.
Although i understand some would be offended by them.
Personally,if im offended by something i just dont buy it.
Lets take our keen on country back from those totally barmy politically correct morons.
Lets get back to old fashioned common sense.....
The superior childrens' books should be left alone.
Enid Blyton's books and the Wiliam books brought so much pleasure to so many children and it is time that they were recognised. You cannot apply current thinking to 50 yrs ago or more.
One thing I do firmly believe is that because of the existence of Enid Blyton a great many children had far more inducement to learn to read than they they do nowadays! Of course it was escapist stuff - it was meant to be!
I be acquainted with that it is about a momma frog or toad and her baby, who is very unrully, and a Mrs Silver Fox tell her that she needs to have a good child like the one sitting by a tree that happens to be a doll. So frog/toad tries to take the doll domestic but cant get it into the stroller so she just takes the head of the doll and her real child some how ends up in the doll's head because she put it on top of it.
Does this gag ring any bell with anyone?
Peradventure "Eulalie and the Hopping Head" by David Small?
Hope this helps!
My cousins were powerful me it's a horror novel (we were talking about the exorcist) and it was really scary. I think they said it was basically about a kid's toy that got possessed. I looked it up on amazon, google, and almost everywhere else, but the results are mostly childrens books. Were my cousins only just joking around with me?
they said they both read it when they were about 8 or 9, so it's at least 8 or so years old. Am I not getting results because it's banned or something?
I'll ask them on AIM, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't about chucky.
Red Doll by Juan Luis Cebrian. Look that one up and see if it's the one.
