Does your college not have a website or someway of contacting pst students to buy their textbooks.
I am at university and I always send e-mails to that year's students to call me if they have predetermined books or I call them when they advertise their books at next to half price. I also advertise my books to get money to pay for the new ones lol.
If not try asking people if they differentiate anyone, or try e-bay/amazon.

try usual to recto, a lot of students go there to search for references and textbooks sold in a very wallet friendly price.

Go online and look for vendors who barter textbooks. If you have the ISBNs of the books you need, you can often find them online for a fraction of the cost. Also, keep an eye out for a buyback program from the online vendors you look in to so that you can get back on one's feet some of the textbook cost after you're finished with them. If you have any doubts about an online retailer, look them up on the BBB's website.

Start off by doing your digging of what you need to buy (ISBN) and when you need the book buy. Once you have this you can start shopping. You can either go to all the different online websites that sell books or use a usage like http://www.campusbooks.com to see them all in one place. Here are a few things to consider to save:
eBooks - several companies now sell ebooks but you have to use this format for the savings to work.
International editions - many times they are the same as the US edition just without color (but they can differ in some cases)
Rental - if you only dire the book for the semester you can consider rental and save a lot.
Older editions - if you can buy an older edition many times you can unusually save. Check with your professor to see if an older edition will work.
Buyback - some merchants offer upfront buyback (nature of like a rental) that will give you a good deal.
Sites such as campusbooks will show you all these options so you can make an informed decision.

Do you know any store/website from where i can buy cheap/used textbooks?
Sep 13, 2007 by Aruna | Posted in Higher Education (University +)
Does anyone be informed any website/store in toronto, from where i can buy cheap textbooks?? I need the following textbooks:
1. Understanding Canadian Business, 6th edition
2. Introduction to Geography, 11th copy and Making sense: Geography and Environmental Science, 3rd edition
3. Sociology A brief Introduction, 2nd edition
Please let me positive, b/c textbooks are very expensive and i can't realy afford it.
i buy my books from exceptional sites in used conditions. most of the time it's half.com, amazon marketplace, etc...where ever that particular book is cheapest. I use http://www.cheapesttextbooks.com to weigh prices on different sites. there's other sites that will do the same thing, but this one's just simpler. From there i find the cheapest place to buy the book (and alter sure it's from a reliable person).

Where do I buy cheap textbooks online?
Jan 28, 2009 by Burkeshire | Posted in Languages
I have so many books to buy. Unfortunately they bring in quite a bit. I'm specifically looking to buy Basic Italian, 7th edition by Speroni. I don't need the tapes since I took them out of the library already, but I don't yearning to pay $160 for the book alone. I'm looking for the cheapest price and the best quality textbook online. Are there any sites that you propound?
Try searching for your textbooks using http://www.bigwords.com! Best clothes textbook search engine out there for sure! The reason I think they're the best is that they compare many items at once, and calculate the to the fullest extent combination of stores to buy at, including coupons and shipping. They also let you include or exclude international editions, and even renting is an opportunity through them. They even let you choose the ship time and then calculate the lowest price using the right shipping type at every value. Its an amazing search engine for textbooks, and I know once you use it for all of your textbooks your gonna keep going back!

What are some good online websites to buy cheap new or used textbooks for school?
Aug 24, 2007 by MiM | Posted in Higher Education (University +)
Since seminary is starting up, buying textbooks at school can be costly. I've searched sites like Amazon for cheap new or used textbooks but they are only a few cents cheaper than at circle. Any other good websites to look at when buying online textbooks?
I don't comprehend, I like Amazon.com, but that's just me. Check out www.half.com (ebay for textbooks) and www.cheaptextbooks.com . You may get lucky and find some good deals. Your win out over bet to find cheap textbooks is at your school. If your school has an online message board type thing for students, see if anyone is selling textbooks that you need or place a question asking for the books you need. Usually in cafeterias or student lounge or those types of areas there are communication boards for announcements for students. Check to see if anyone has posted a bulletin selling books or you could post your own asking for the books you demand. You are so much more likely to get a good cheap deal this way. Often the online sites will get you good deals, but you end up making up for the difference in shipping charges.
