This =interview has been damaged,cracked,although computer base of notebook works.Looks like it was stepped on and cracked,shows unconfined black areas on monitor screen now!help!

DONT BUY A NEW LAPTOP. When you call HP they will say 750 or so for a room divider.
Go to http://www.screentekinc.com . They sell laptop screens for a fraction of what major laptop makers sell them for. HP charges so much so you buy a new laptop from them.

I require to repair the dc power jack attachment to the mother board.

The HP website (in the reinforcing section) has a product manual for your model that will tell you how to take apart the laptop. I know this because I used the site and the instructions on it to take apart my laptop to clean the fan. It was an intensive process and took hours, since you have to take literally everything apart before you can reach it, but the instructions are very adequate.

i reformatted my notebook using operating system cd(windows xp stamping-ground edition service 2 pack) and plus my driver application and recovery cd. i downloaded itunes and when i run the program.i get a communiqu saying that the windows installer was not set up correctly? not sure why this happened.

you exigency a program called windows installer most likely. Search Microsoft's website, or else make sure that you have downloaded all the consequential updates from Microsoft.com

If i buy an Hewlett Packard notebook in the US, is the warranty valid in Europe ?

Yes but the pledge is provided in the first instance by the seller, and you might have to go through them. You need to check that the warranty is "world wide", but if the imbroglio is due to 220 instead of 110 volts then you have the problem. As a leading brand HP should be willing to help regardless. LOL!
