Bit of a uninteresting shot for today i'm afraid. I don't think it stopped raining all day yesterday, it was monotonous and torrential. For that reason, I didn't get out and weary the day in my room. Spotted these eggs in the kitchen took them to...
I drained the wee hours of the night walking along empty corridors of brightly lit buildings avoiding the rain I would have to withstand once more in order to reparation back to my dorm.

Can you transfer data from Quickbooks Pro 2004 to Quickbooks Pro 2008 easily?
Dec 20, 2007 by etevie | Posted in Personal Finance
I have Qickbooks Pro 2004 and deficiency to update to Quickbooks Pro 2008. Is it easy to transfer all my info without hand typing it or losing any of it?
You have to do a inconsiderable work since the file formats are different, but Quicken explains that in the help menu. You will be able to transfer your story over to 2008.

You will always be masterly to transfer accounts, items, vendors, and customers, but i think that the history will never transfer.

There should be no muddle updating your data file from 2004 to 2008. It is recommended that you run a file verify and rebuild before making the conversion to confirm that your data will convert correctly.

You have to do a minuscule work since the file formats are different, but Quicken explains that in the help menu. You will be able to transfer your curriculum vitae over to 2008.

I had Quickbooks Pro 2008, but can't find the cd to reinstall it?
May 22, 3604 by Laura N | Posted in Software
I had already purchased Quickbooks Pro 2008 and had it installed on my laptop. My laptop crashed a few months later and unfotunately I had to reset it to Works default causing me to lose all programs that were not installed at the time of my laptop purchase.
We are having difficulty locating the genuine cd, and I am wondering if there is a way to download the program without having to pay for it since we have already purchased it?
Nope, not legally.
Conjunction Quickbooks and see if they will send you a replacement disk for a nominal fee. Of course you will need your original serial number to install it. If you have neither the serial figure up, the original CD, or the purchase receipt, then you're going to have to buy it again.

May I use Quickbooks Pro 2008 in a course for Quickbooks Pro 2007?
Jan 04, 2008 by bibbido66 | Posted in Personal Finance
I distress the course because I know nothing about Quickbooks, but the course says 2007 and the only software I can find easily available and affordable is 2008. I justifiable want to be able to learn what I need using the 2008 software. I know I should ask the instructor but can't get in touch with them and would turtle-dove an answer ASAP! Thanks!
If you have not bought it yet, try Ebay to find a adaptation of 2007. It should be cheaper than the 2008. If I were teaching the class, I would not have a problem with you using the more recent version.

Will there be any data loss when converting from Quickbooks 2006 Premier to QB Pro 2008?
May 22, 250 by Joyce W | Posted in Software
I need to upgrade to Quickbooks Pro 2008 from Quickbooks Premier 2006. I am afraid of losing any data. Are these two compatible?
You will be OK. The information files are kept in a separate folder from the program files. In later versions it has been in the Shared Documents folder but you should find out where it is. Do a search for *.qbb files so you recognize the location.
Delete Quickbooks 2006 before you install the other program. If you don't, 2008 may use some 2006 files and then there is confusion.
After installing 2008, do a "fix" from your present data location. The program will convert your data to the new format.
Good luck.

How do you create a contact list/ rolodex from quickbooks pro 2008 without having all projects listed?
Jul 09, 2008 by Kim | Posted in Small Business
My boss wants me to frame a contact list from our quickbooks! I know you can do that under reports, but it shows the clients more then once. Is there a way to shut that off? We are just looking to access a roll that shows the client/company once with contact info.
Making an excel spreadsheet is way too time consuming, so I am not affluent that route.
Your answers will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
In reading your puzzle, it sounds like you have Customers with one or more Jobs and you would like to print out just the Customers and not the Jobs. If this is the case, then unless you’ve created a together Customer Type and designated the Customers or the Jobs by this unique Customer Type then I don’t know of an easy way to “douse off” clients showing up more than once in a QuickBooks report.
However, by using a formula in Excel you can quickly sort out the duplications. Here are the steps:
1.In QuickBooks, develop the list or report with the columns you want
2.Click on the “Export” button above the report heading and interval for the report to open in Excel
3.You should have a blank column to the left of the Customer column, if not insert a column to the progressive of the Customer column. Your first customer should be in cell B2.
4.Click on the letter A at the top of column A. This should highlight the entire column
5.On the menu bar click on “Select” and select “Clear” and then “All” to the right of “Clear”
6.In cubicle A2 enter the formula: =FIND(":",B2)
7.In cell A2 you should now see the word: #VALUE!
8.Copy the formula in cell A2 to all the cells in column A where there is a name in column B
9.Now you’ll see some cells with a loads and some with the word #VALUE! The cells with the word #VALUE! are your customers. The cells with a number are your jobs. Sort the slate to separate the customers from the jobs by selecting the entire spreadsheet (click on the blank cell to the left of the column characterize A) and from the menu bar select “Data” and then “Sort”.
10.In the Sort window click on the “Descending” button next to the first box and click “OK” at the bottom.
11.Your despatch should quickly sort and you will see all your customers at the top. The Jobs will have a number in column A and will appear at the bottom. Delete or re-format what you need and your directory is done.
This is a short term solution to your problem because if you want to print an updated list later you’ll have to do this all of these steps again. The yearn term solution would be to create the unique Customer Type in QuickBooks and update each Customer with this type then you can easily conceive this list in QuickBooks. Since updating the Customer Type for each Customer one by one will take a lot of time, you should use Excel to update things quickly by doing something correspond to to the above steps and using the File / Import feature in QuickBooks.
