A unceremonious read.
If you want some insight with regard to all the confusion in Christianity... why all the contrasting different ideas of what it is all about... this is an diverting read: "Gospel Enigma" It's the 10th one on the list here: http://newfreebooks.com
It's told in the format of a youngster and his pre-junior high school little sister who read and interpret the Bible on their own! Interesting and great fun.
Description and readers comments at the end of chapter one.

The Salutary Earth is my favorite book! An amazing read...especially the ending.
Now I've moved onto books by an author named Jodi Picoult. She is an boss writer...though she and Buck's writing styles differ a lot, they both do a magnificent job of captivating the reader. Best!

You could try 'Year of Wonders' by Geraldine Brooks, or 'The Red Tent' by Anita Diamant. Other time periods and stories to those of Pearl S. Buck, but well written and good reads!

does anyone recognize about the book good earth by pearl buck?
i need some help on these questions.......please anyone help me!!!!!
the abundance of food in the see contrasts with the characters' impverished lives. Discuss the emotionally complex realationship Wang Lung develops with the borough.
and
the poor laborers in the city lack knowledge even of what they look like, a fact illustrated by the man who mocks himself in a reflector how does a new self-awareness come to manifest iteslf?
please anyone help me!!!!
could anyone help me on the second question now?
ty for the first two answers!!!!!
it helped a lot!!!
Hi! This is my all period favorite book. Wang Lung loves all that the city has to offer, so many things that he grew up without. However, he also loathes the wastefulness of the megalopolis and the over-indulgence. While he likes enjoying the benefits of the city and his own wealth, he also is at odds with himself. He sees himself becoming less simple (and simple was talented growing up) and becoming more materialistic and enjoying delicacies that he had been able to live without before.

Is the book "The Good Earh" by Pearl Buck available in simplified or traditional Chinese? Where can I buy it?
May 04, 2007 by Bruce K | Posted in Books & Authors
I inadequacy to give a copy of this book to a Chinese friend.
Oops, that is "The Good EARTH" :p. Anyway, I have a Chinese benefactor here who may enjoy reading it. I know this is a long shot :).
I do not grasp if the "book" is printed in Chinese. I do know, I tried, and tired to read it, but, over a hundred pages of a skirt going to market, with on, and on, boring repetition, zapped my interest, totally. I bunrned the book, as a waste of time. ( and, I am an avid reader) It is the worse mitigate or literature, I have ever tried to endure!! BAD,,BAD,,BAD!!!!!! worse than the "begots,": in the old testament!
