Why sell used books for 1 cent on Amazon?
Jun 21, 2006 by ♣ | Posted in Other - Internet
Many of the employed books available on Amazon cost only 1 cent. I just bought one and paid $9.79 for international shipping, which isnt undue for a shipping cost, so where are they making the money?
I have purchased undoubtedly a few used books on Amazon for very cheap prices, and the shipping price I paid was always $1 or more above the true shipping price; I've always assumed that they make their money on the shipping charge.

I didn't distinguish anyone would do so. Now that is ridiculos. Maybe they are saving pennies.

The shipping price.
They ship thousands at a time. How much do you think is thousands of $9.79 ? Compared to the shipping fee

When you buy those .25 cent books from Amazon.com, do the books ship from different places?
May 30, 2009 by dancing___loveee | Posted in Books & Authors
I've never bought books on Amazon, and they're absolutely affordable, so I've decided to buy a couple to add to my reading collection. I chose books that are used and cost less than 3 dollars. Just wondering, do they carry in one package or in separate ones because they're from different places? Thanks.
Well, it depends on who you bought it from. Recognize, it is not always the website and its company itself that sends items off to buyers. There are other companies that use Amazon to sell their products, so if you buy more than one from them, they might ship them in seperate packages. However, people shop-girl on Amazon just because. Those are usually packaged together. But you can check if they mentioned anything in their comments on the condition.

Ever found good books at 99 cent stores?
Sep 29, 2007 by Smartass | Posted in Books & Authors
At dollar tree & 99cents only stores, I've seen "Where the Valid Went Wrong" by Pat Buchanan, "The Bomb in the Basement" , "The Osama bin Laden I comprehend", "Video" (novel), "Drudge Manifesto"
Not like it my type, but definitely something worth $1 for people interested in the topics. What have you found ?
I found a order on the discount rack at a local book store for $1.00, does that count??
Called "Notes from the Hyena's Belly, by an Ethiopian boy named Neka Mezlekia.
Wow, what an eye opener, i have passed it around to most of my acquaintances, they have all enjoyed it a lot.
Humane life is not valued very much in some parts of the world, and this boy's experiences illustrate this in a very powerful way.

How do folks make money selling books for 1 cent on Amazon.com?
Jun 21, 2007 by d0rktower | Posted in Small Business
I separate amazon fixes their shipping fees, and it barely covers it....so how are these people selling paperbacks for 1 cent making anything at all
a-hoy! mr.potatoe prime,
these sellers use deception to make money.they usually charge the shipping rate for priority mail but they carry via the media mail rate, which is way cheaper and very slow to arrive(2-3 weeks), in comparison to the the 2-3 day weight mail shipping.they make most of their profits on the S&H fees.even though their fees are fixed, the sellers still manage to make bread off of the shipping & handling.plus some of their books are used and they probably got them at wholesale rates or at garage sales for next to nothing deals.for specimen) the sellers might charge about $8 to ship one 1 lb book.they bought the used book for about $2 and actual shipping via media send for a 1 lb book cost only $1-$2, so they still make about $4 profit.

Is a list of books ever sold by the 99 cent store availible?
Jun 01, 2007 by fenyfan | Posted in Books & Authors
where might you find such a schedule, if your looking for a specific book that they were selling at one time but are no longer in order to search for the book elsewhere? (Forgot the championship of a book I am looking) It's a chain book store with lots of locations if that helps.
I hesitate that such a list exists since the books sold at these stores are purchased through book liquidators.
