Using instructors edition textbook.?
Mar 01, 2009 by angieoh143 | Posted in Teaching
I bought the instructors edition of my English textbook because it was cheaper. The textbook is methodically the same as the students edition except it's about 2 inches wider in size and contains tips, suggestions, exercises, and answers. Would it be okay to use it or will most teachers see this as cheating? I'm contemplating on whether I should just now let my teacher know and risk the possibility of being told to shell out $100 to buy the same book in the students edition or just entirely trying my best to cover/hide the textbook so my teacher can't see that it's slightly larger.
It sounds like you are in a college movement. In my opinion having taught at the Junior College level, I would not mind if you used a Teacher's Edition textbook if you were talented to buy it without being on the faculty, however, some of my colleagues might not appreciate the fact that you were able to obtain it. I see it as another research access and not cheating. Besides, I wouldn't evaluate on the "additional" material that book has unless I covered it in class and said that it was testable and not in your schoolgirl textbook.

Should I buy the instructor's edition of my textbook?

I was looking for cheaper textbooks. I found a reallly Scrooge-like book, but it is the instructor's edition. It is about 3/4 the price of the bookstore price. I really need to purchase the book at a evaluate like this. Would it matter if I bought it for my college psychology class? Do you think the instructor would allow it or even care?
Ok, I lied. It is my college algebra caste, and it has all the answers in it.
I don't plan on using the answers to cheat. I am not the cheating type. I was just giving a description of the list. I would use that feature as reference.
Be carefull with that, they dont always have the same happy.

Textbooks: Student vs Instructor edition?
Aug 07, 2007 by grape juice is nasty | Posted in Other - Education
Have you ever against the teachers edition? If so, is it really the exact same thing as the students? cover? page numbers and all? Looking for textbooks and the instructor edition comes up cheapest.. should I buy?
I chose to foothold an instructors book for my English class. It's pretty much the same as a students book except for information for the instructor on classroom activities, effort ideas, and discussion topics. The cover of the instructors edition English book that I purchased is different from the regular student record. In fact, I would always try to hide the cover cause I figured the instructor would have said something to me about it (she never did). The page numbers may differ but I question it. I see no reason why you shouldn't buy it. I've had no problem using my copy. If it's cheaper, go for it.
