My relationship with books was admiration at first sight. I was seven when I first entered my neighbourhood's public library, which was barely 60 sq meters. I'm pretty sure-fire I wouldn't be who I am today without that humble library. Sadly, that same library was closed down this last...
Books let us into their souls and lay open to us the secrets of our own. ~William Hazlitt
This is an pass book that I found in the school library where I work....I believe the copyright is 1862! I wonder how many hands have opened this reserve....wish it could tell us!

Jun 06, 2009 by Mielu | Posted in Optical
Is it healthier for eyes if you be familiar with printed (paper) books or electronic books(on computer screen)?
In the age of technology, though the celebrity of printed books has gone down you can never underestimate the convenience and pleasure of reading a book in printed form. A lot of online shops are detailed selling audio books; still printed books are a favorite among those who have grown ups reading printed books.
Audio books are easy to listen to but you are always dependent on the audio systematize player. You PC or laptop is dependent on the power source, which cannot be guaranteed everywhere, especially while you are travelling or vacationing.
Conventional books give you a lot of free hand to use them as and when you need them. Here are a few advantages of normal printed books over eBooks:
• Books can be used anywhere, no need to sit in a particular posture all the time. You can even review a book just before you go to sleep.
• No dependence on battery life or power source. Simply read a libretto while sun bathing on beach side or travelling in bullet train.
• You never strain your eyes even if you keep reading for long hours.
• Audio books are accessible only for new books , all kind of all time favorite books are not available in audio /MP3 form
• Easy to carry therefore no special instructions to cope with required.
• Never goes outdated unless you lose interest in the subject inside.

Only advantages please. I also assent to that traditional books have a certain ''feel'', but I just want to know the advantages of e-books.
Recover paper
You don't have to build bookcases for them
It's a lot faster, if you want a quick read, just to download an e-book, preferably of go to the bookstore or library.
If you have an e-book reader, you can carry a lot of books and other traditional "print" material with you (newspapers, etc.). This is only positively an issue if you're on the road a lot and need to have more than one book with you.
For technical manuals and things, it can be faster to look something up, depending on your e-ticket reader/format.
Sorry--forgot one:
It can be less expensive to try out a new author you think you might like, since e-books are often cheaper than print books. Also, you can often find one's name to-alone short stories, again, allowing you to check out an author or genre.

What are the Disadvantages and Advantages of Using Electronic Books?
May 11, 2009 by Jon = Deaf Man! | Posted in Books & Authors
Remuneration Question: Is it going to replace the traditional books in the next few years?
disadvantages: they'll under any circumstances be written by morons who spell you "u", people "ppl", what "wat" does "prescribe", two, to and too "2".
they will be utterly UNREADABLE.
advantages: they will be read only by morons who will support the efforts of the novelist

Is there a site where you can buy electronic books on health topics?
Jan 03, 2007 by Clare C | Posted in Other - Health & Beauty
My Dad has trigeminal neuralgia and we recently hunted for books on the enthral. We could only find one book on the subject and it was in America so we will have to wait ages for it to be delivered. I thought to myself wouldn't it be great if there was some website where you can buy ebooks for a run the gamut of health issues and conditions. Does such a site exist? Then you could get access to the books quickly by downloading them. I've noticed some conditions are steadfastly to find any publications on.
If you purpose audio books, barns and noble or boarders have some or if you have i tunes, you can buy audio books and put them in your i pod. ;)

How does Kindle books compare to other electronic book publishers?
Mar 07, 2008 by John | Posted in Books & Authors
Well, on the increased by side, you have access to the Amazon library. On the minus side, well where do I begin? Your Kindle is only good for Amazon content. You cannot use it as a phone, email deivce, extemporize games, create Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access documents. You have limited storage. The screen is monochrome, so no balance to colors. The thing is pretty big, so no having it with you in your pocket. Finally, if you want to download books, you need to be in range of their utilization (AT&T, I think) or a WiFi connection.
Basically, they have taken all of the advantages of ebooks and beaten them out of the Kindle.
I have used Palm handhelds and eReader for ebooks for years now. I currently use a Treo 755. If you are in the light of a Kindle, check out the Treo first, and visit www.ereader.com to see what they offer. I have unlimited storage (just use a mini SD condolence card), I have a comfortable color screen to read on, and the unit is small enough that I always have it with me. I also have access to all of the things I mentioned above. Finally, unless I am out in the mean of the desert, I can download any of my books at any time via Sprint (or roaming) data services.
